A major issue that I can think of regarding quality and early childhood professionals that are being discussed where I work is professional development. Professional development is a hot topic because educators are always looking for ways to better education. Due to the constant changes that occur these days it is important that educators stay abreast of new and improved teaching techniques. Another reason professional development is so important is because all children learn differently and teachers need to learn several ways in which to reach to successfully teach all of their children ( Lebeau, 2008). Professional development strengthens educator’s abilities to teach their children. Their little brains need to be stimulated and challenged. Parents that want their children enrolled in quality early childhood facilities will do their homework on various centers before making their final choices. Parents will more than likely ask several questions to ensure those that will be educating their child is indeed highly qualified. Parents do not want their children in an educational environment that does not consist of highly qualified educators. Resource Lebeau, M. (2008). The Importance of Professional Development.
